Many important men in Virginia, such as Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and George Wythe frequented his shop.
Some cool things you might want to know.To make a wig all you needed was a needle hair net,and some hair\horse,goat,yak, or human first you need to take the hair net and put some hair in the needle and start to stitch it loose ,so it looks like real hair.
How they keep there hair clean? They add fine sand to the wigs to soak up the oils. They did not wash there hair very often. Bio- Richard Charlton arrived in Williamsburg in 1760 . He worked as a wigmaker and a coffeehouse owner.In the late 1765 the porch of the coffeehouse was the scence of Willamsburg's protest against The Stamp Act.Richard Carlton died in Richmond in 1779.
